The Kentlands Community Foundation (KCF) has narrowed its search for the next executive director down to five finalists.

KCF Chair John Schlichting said the board of directors interviewed the five candidates on September 1 and he describes the five as “extraordinary.”

“All five are awesome and our eleven board members are having a tough time,” Schlichting said. “We had hopes to make our decision before the 5K but I’m not sure that’s going to happen.”

According to Schlichting, the KCF received 32 applications for the job opening.

KCF Executive Director Bridget Ryder announced last month that she was leaving the post to take a new job.

The executive director works alongside the Foundation’s board of directors and committee chairs to provide the administrative framework and management support for all foundation-sponsored programs and events such as the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K.
