Fox TV reporter Holly Morris, Mayor Sidney Katz and Author Aviva Goldfarb help preview the Book Festival on local TV earlier today.
The local television station brought its morning show reporter to Gaithersburg for three different segments (not including live teases) from the grounds of City Hall.
Local Fox TV reporter Holly Morris interviewed Ashman, the founder of the Book Festival, in the first live segment and Katz in the third morning segment. Other highlights included live music, a workshop for fifth graders from Gaithersburg Elementary School and cookbook author Aviva Goldfarb.

Gaithersburg resident Gail Norris, a Book Festival Committee volunteer and public relations professional, helped coordinate the live broadcast.“We all believe it went incredibly smoothly: great weather, great participants and great coverage for the Gaithersburg Book Festival,” Norris said.
This Saturday’s Gaithersburg Book Festival features dozens of authors, workshops, a children’s village, a coffeehouse with live music and much more. You don’t want to miss it. The keynote speaker of this year’s festival is Matt Logelin, the author of “Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss & Love.” His appearance begins at 4 p.m. C-SPAN also plans to broadcast live from the Book Festival.
