Today our community added a priceless amenity. Urbana’s New District Park is beautiful and one we can all be proud to call our home town park. The energy and excitement was everywhere. Kids screaming and laughing on the playground, a pickup game of whiffle ball and a scavenger hunt were just of the few sights at the festivities.
County Commissioner and local resident, Blaine Young hosted today’s Grand Opening of the Urbana District Park. Young had the best idea of the day at the Urbana District Park opening. As the official ribbon cutting was getting organized, he suggested the kids cut the ribbon instead of all the state and community leaders.

I encourage you to visit the park soon. After 12 years in the planning, I have to say, it was worth the wait.
